Welcome to the website for the Adaptive Sports USA Junior Nationals 2017!  The Junior Nationals is the oldest continuously held competitive sports event for junior athletes (ages 7 to 22)

with physical disabilities in North America.  The Games will be held in the

great state of Wisconsin the week of

July 15th to 22nd on the campus of

Middleton High School, just outside of the

capital city of Madison.   Adaptive Sports USA is pleased to be partnering with USA Track & Field to be offering Track & Field

competition that qualify for the USATF Junior

Olympics, a first of it's kind competition.



What Sports will be held at Junior Nationals?  The

Adaptive Sports USA Junior Nationals is the national championships for all qualifying junior athletes with a disability competing in either wheelchair or

ambulatory Track & Field; Swimming; Archery; Powerlifting; Table Tennis;

Air Guns and Pentathlon.  In addition, Wisconsin will be hosting a Para

Triathlon event in association with the Dare2Tri organization on Sunday,

July 16th.



Who is Eligible?  Any athlete between the ages of 7 and 22 who

has competed in a sanctioned regional meet; USATF sanctioned Track & Field Meet; USA Swimming sanctioned competition; or other sanctioned qualifying competition and meets the Adaptive Sports USA qualifying standards for the specific sport in which the athlete is competing.   In addition, athletes competing with the USA Track & Field Para Junior Olympics program will qualify for the event for the very first time.  Junior Athletes with cognitive/intellectual disabilities that have been classified under the International Paralympic Committee classification system and met qualifying standards are eligible to compete in the 2017 Adaptive Sports USA Junior Nationals.  For additional information on regional qualifying competitions in your area, go to our website at For information on the standards necessary to qualify to compete at Junior Nationals, go to the Sports Specific Information page here.



About the 2017 venue?   The campus of Middleton / Cross Plains High School will be the site of all athletic venues for Junior Nationals 2017.  Located only 1.8 miles from the host hotel, the Madison Marriott West, Middleton High School boasts a modern all weather 9 lane track with spectator seating for over 5,000.  Swimming will be held indoors in the modern 8 lane short course pool at Middleton / Cross Plains High School.   Archery will be

held on a 120 Meter practice field area next to the Track Complex.  Seated

Field Events will be held on the Middleton / Cross Plains High School softball field.  ParaTriathlon will be competed at the Baumann Outdoor Pool complex immediately east of the MCPHS Track Complex and will also utilize the outstanding nearby Pheasant Branch Trail System that has been developed

and maintained by the Middleton Parks and Recreation Department.  Finally,

all lunches during the competition will be provided at Fireman's Park, which

is located immediately west of Middleton High School and approximately

200 meters from the Track Complex.  The park boasts a permanent pavilion structure that provides seating for 1,000.






















About the Host City and Surrounding Area?  The city

of Middleton, WI is a thriving city on the banks of beautiful Lake Mendota.  The city of Middleton is a suburb of Madison, the state capital of Wisconsin, and a city of 245,000 people.  The Madison/Middleton area is surrounded

by five large lakes and becomes a beautiful summertime destination because
